Our Story

Our Story

Meluzza was founded in New York by Paula Doebrich in 2024. It was born out of a desire to create jewelry that carries a deeper meaning. In a market oversaturated with items that look alike, we want to bring back jewelry as an expression of self.

Jewelry used to carry a profound meaning but as fashion became faster, jewelry followed. In the process, we lost the magic that came with purchasing or being gifted jewelry that would become part of our story.

Meluzza celebrates jewelry as an expression of love, a promise, a milestone, a memory of loved ones, and so much more. We want to revive this personal connection with jewels, allowing you to build your own collection that will tell the story of you.

A Mode of Expression

Meluzza jewelry empowers you to express your personality with unapologetic confidence. Our designs aren't made to blend in, they’re created to let your individuality shine, reflecting exactly how you wish to be seen by the world.

Who is Meluzza?

An enthusiast of myths, stories, and fairytales, Paula infused her brand with the elements that fascinate and inspire her. Meluzza is a fusion of two powerful symbols: Melusine and Medusa.

Melusine, a mermaid from European folklore, symbolizes the city of Warsaw. The city has a deep meaning to Paula as that's where her family's roots are. Embracing her heritage, she infuses small elements of her childhood into the jewelry that bring her closer to her own story.

Medusa, often believed to be the protector of women's secrets, represents feminine power. It takes strength to express yourself unapologetically, and when in doubt, Medusa protects by acting as the evil to repel evil.

Two powerful myths, combined with our founder's own journey of retaking her power, Meluzza stands for the emotions our jewels are meant to awaken: bold, confident, adventurous, yet also delicate and wonderfully curious.

Our Founder

Our Founder

Paula’s journey to jewelry design is as unique as her creations. After more than a decade as a model, working across three continents with iconic fashion brands, she transitioned into public health as a clinical dietitian and researcher. Yet, it was in jewelry - a space where creativity meets personal expression - where she found her true calling.

An avid lover of jewelry herself, Paula grew frustrated with the superficial choices in today's market. Recognizing an opportunity, she tapped into her creative vision to design jewelry that is capable of telling personal, meaningful stories.

Allowing her creativity to guide her, she felt she had finally arrived where she was always meant to be. Now fully able to express herself, her jewelry tells her own story of rebirth, self-love, and reclaiming her power.

In her work as a designer, Paula combines creativity with the desire to empower others. By infusing personality into each piece, Paula creates pieces that become instant heirlooms
